Berdine Creedy, Artist

Out of the heart of South Africa comes award winning doll artist, Berdine Creedy.  Growing up in a loving, hard working family of four children, Berdine gives credit to her Mom for her creative talents.  Berdine's designs are known for their innocent childlike features that collectors fall in love with.

Though Berdine was exposed to art from her childhood, her own artistic gift did not flourish until college.  She began to dedicate herself to her craft by developing pottery and antique reproductions of dolls.  Berdine's education in teaching allowed her to continue to bring aspects of art into her life.  She encouraged her students to become excited about art.  Making her dolls gave her the freedom of expression and the ability to be at home with her children.

As she exposed her talents to the world market, she was thrilled at the reception her dolls received.  Her little children were a big success.  Her family, now settled in Gainesville, Florida, plays a great role in the development and presentation of her creations.  In fact, the lovely hand crocheted accents on her dolls are actually created by Berdine's mother.

Berdine continues to win awards for her creations, including three 1999 Dolls of Excellence nominations, a 1999 Dolls of Excellence Award, and a DOTY Industry's Choice Award.  Her collectors are growing in numbers all over the world.
